TENDER EVALUATION

Introduction

The Tender Evaluation Section (TES) acts as the secretariat or administrative body of the Government’s Tender Evaluation Board (TEB), which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MoFT).

This section performs a range of activities in the name of the TEB, in particular the tendering function which constitute the following stages.

  • Preparing tender documents
  • Advertising
  • Conducting pre-bid meetings
  • Conducting bids Openings
  • Evaluating bids under the criteria set out by the TEB
  • Conveying TEB awarding decision to successful bidder(s)

The main function of the TES can be summarised as the administration and procurement of contractors, consultants and suppliers with regard to tenders.

The TES comes under the direct supervision of the Director of Tender Evaluation, who reports to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.

Responsibilities

The TES is responsible for:

  • The tendering of all Government projects exceeding Mrf 500,000.00 (Maldivian Rufiyaa five hundred thousand)
  • Evaluating and give its recommendation for awarding of projects
  • Maintain records of projects progress status
  • Maintain records of contractors
