Grant Agreement signed between the Government of Maldives and the Government of Netherlands

A Grant Agreement has been signed between the Government of the Republic of the Maldives and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 11th December 2014 to implement a project aimed at remedying the coastal erosion faced by the populations of Gn.Fuvahmulah, S.Maradhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo and S.Feydhoo.

Minister Abdulla Jihad signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Maldives whilst His Excellency Ambassador Louis Piët signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

 

The Agreement signed marks the commencement of the development phase of the project. The costs for the development phase, which was signed today amounts to &euro762,878, while the entire total of the project costs (including all three phases, the development phase, the implementation phase, and operation & maintenance phases) are estimated at &euro 19.5 million.
