As part of these meetings, Minister Ameer attended the Ministerial Dialogue of Vulnerable Twenty Group (V20), where he gave a statement. In this statement, he reiterated the need for more grants to finance the adaptation measures of Vulnerable Countries. At the WBG Meetings, vulnerable countries and international partner also announced collaboration to climate proof economic growth and adaptation measures.
World Bank / IMF Spring Meetings 2019 was also attended by the Governor of MMA Ahmed Naseer and Chief Financial Budget Executive Ahmed Saruvash.
Minister Ameer and Governor Naseer met with Deputy Managing Director of IMF Mr. Tao Zhang, WB Executive Director of Maldives constituency Mr. Merza Hassan and calls on the VP of the World bank Hartwig Schafer, IFC VP Nena Stoiljkovic and their team working for Maldives projects during the Spring Meeting of the WB/ IMF.
Minister Ameer and delegation have arrived to Maldives today.
