H.E. Takeuchi Midori, the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Maldives paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq. The meeting was held today afternoon at the Ministry of Finance.

During this meeting, discussions were held on Japanese assistance to the Maldives including support for development projects. Furthermore, discussions were also held on Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)’s cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to dispatch an Economic Policy Advisor.

The Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of Economic Cooperation, Mr. Shuto Fukuoka for the meeting. Minister Dr. Shafeeq was accompanied by the Minister of State for Finance Hussain Sham Adam, Deputy Minister of Finance Hassan Miras and Chief Resource Mobilization Executive Mohamed Yammai.
