Ahmed Mazin appointed as the Permanent Secretary.

Mr. Ahmed Mazin is currently the Chief Funds Executive at the Ministry of Finance and Treasury since 2007. Simultaneously, he has held the position of Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry since March 2016.

 

During his role as the Chief Funds Executive, he was responsible for overseeing the Treasury and Public Accounts Division. At this period, he played a senior role in the establishment of the centralized Public Accounting System (PAS) designed to facilitate the strengthening of public finance management in the government.

Mr. Mazin completed his B.A in Accounting and Finance at the University of East London in 2002 and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Ballarat, Australia, with a focus on Financial Management in 2006.

Mr. Mazin has over 20 years’ experience at the various departments of Ministry of Finance and Treasury and his areas of expertise include treasury management and financial reporting. Furthermore, he has served as a Board Director and Chairman of some of the State Owned Enterprises in the Maldives. In addition, he has occupied the role of Chairman of the Tender Evaluation Board since July 2016.
