Finance Minisyer Ahmed Munawar has officially inaugurated the “National Health Accounts 2014” in a special ceremony held on 12th of June 2017.

Addressing at the ceremony, Minister Munawwar said “NHA 2014” shows the importance the government is giving to the health sector."

 Maldives national health accounts 2014 is the first such report formulated after the introduction of Aasandha on 2012. At the function, a presentation was shown based on the expenses, resources and developments of the Health Sector in the year 2014.

In this ceremony Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim has stated that out of pocket health expenditure in Maldives which was close to 50% in 2011 has come down to 29.5% in 2014.

Statistics show that nine percent of the 2014 GDP was spent on the health sector. This amounts to the same as the most developed states of the world.

WHO Representative, Dr. Arvind Mathur and other senior officials from the Ministry of Health attended the Ceremony.
